Pains of Wasted Years
Yesterday,
She was a beauty Queen,
Flying and walking on the smooth roads,
On the streets and restaurants,
Beer parlours and churches,
Like an angel from Venus,
The
Handsome,
Rich
And
Self actualized
Wished
To make her the bone of their bones
And
Flesh
of
Their flesh.
That was when her beauty had trapped many men like ants in a cobweb.
But she was not ready to carry pregnancies, breastfeed babies, cook and remain submissive to a man.
Today,
The swings of the pendulum has swung away the hands of time from her side.
The poor
With
Wisdom,
The
Single
With
No
Or better paid Job
And
The handsome but illiterate
Are
now
all she could see around the neighborhood.
Frustration is furrowed on the corners of her wrinkled face.
She is ready to settle down now,
Looking for any type of man to take her away,
Perhaps,
to a better place.
The sun lay golden-soft over the huddled hills
And
the
cruel and bloody Casanova surfaced,
He promised to love her more than words could tell
But took her to a place where
The fires never stop burning.
She was only weeping for help daily,
But no one is listening and was ready to help,
Everyone is deaf and dumb,
Reacting with no reaction,
She missed her right home sometime ago,
And no angel was ready to take her to heaven,
But the monster came
And took her soul away,
To a hell called matrimonial home.
