Pacific Pleasures

A mirror of blue and aqua hue
Glass that expands over endless miles
Enjoyed within the gloaming view
Palm Trees sway on verdant isles

Glass that expands over endless miles
Melodies float upon rainy mists
Palm trees sway on verdant isles
Where ocean waves and blue skies kiss

Melodies float upon rainy mists
Mermaids play and sea nymphs hide
Where ocean waves and blue skies kiss
He listens to the roaring tide

Mermaids play and sea nymphs hide
Enjoyed within the gloaming view
He listens to the roaring tide
A mirror of blue and aqua hue

Lucky to have a mentor. I am self-taught but thank my teachers from my childhood days who introduced me to the basics. I, too had a terribly long spell of the poetic block, but I am back again, hopefully, my spell of being inspired will last now. The contests are a wonderful platform to push us on! Can't thank the sponsors enough. ~karam~

Thank you. I had a top notch coach in writing Pantoum. It's still challenging. I'm trying new forms as well. I had a 4 year block and just recently began writing again..

This is very beautiful Cheryl. My kind of poetry with breathtaking imagery. Have you been to Hawaii? It seems like you are describing my island. #7 ; ) Aloha, Connie

Connie, I lived on Hawaii. On Oahu, Punaluu, was on almost all for about 12 -14 years... lost count. Livied in Samoa. Went to Fiji briefly. I was teaching as a Missionary. Then some time in Oregon country. Yep I have those images firmly implanted. I'm homesick, hate California but necessary with elderly parents. Thanks for asking and a kind greeting
