Pacific Coast Highway
California oceans live in my heart
driving along the familiar coast
From one city to another
signals change and meander
oh how those moments resonate
inside an ache of longing
The pelicans and seagulls
waves crashing along the sand
crowded piers and restaurants
surfers changing near their cars
Every beach is different
from Redondo to Huntington
Long Beach and San Pedro
and everywhere in between
Each place a blurred memory
haunting within like chimes in the wind
surely a part of me remains
somewhere along that old PCH
