Over Time

Over the years, I wrote poems for someone,
Left me in tears and screams, it wasn't fun.
It turns out I was writing for the wrong one.
But who's meant to be mine till life is done?

Over this year, I wrote poems for a few,
They all used me up, left me in tears too.
Truth is I was writing for someone new.
Those poems a prophecy of a love so true.

Over the past three months, wrote so many,
A hundred poems for this new one, precisely.
I feel my true enamored muse in me finally.
In him, I found what I searched for fervently.

From now and forever, I'll write for my lover,
The one I found, who is unlike any other.
I'll be his reason to hold our love with fervor,
He'll always be my reason I hold us together.
