Image result for pictures of forsythia in bloom

The forsythia is not as full of blooms as this one because it has tried to bloom out since December..

Chartreuse tassels hang quiet, still Birds joyfully sing love's song Roosters' melodies fill the hollow Each greet spring gone so long Charcoal clouds ruffled across blue Cobalt could bring a shower Wash golden forsythia's blooms Loaded with blossom power The still air loaded with pollen Each plant seeking a mate Some falling upon car and barn Missed wind's transport to date An egg yolk sun peeks through cobalt Will it shine the whole day Is there rain in those early clouds Let joy exude come what may

Not sure where my mind was at, Sarah. "Chartreuse" is not a word I hear often, and in fact the first time I heard it was in Silent's "Colourification Contest" ... so that's probably why I had contests in mind. Silly me!

A homely farm scene with the egg yolk sun and the rooster melodies. Cool how you exalted the beauty of nature instead, in this poem ... most others I've read went in the Romance direction.

I use a lot of archaic words..Once in the US it was used to mean a porch..Words gone from the language but are still a word..Thanks for the visit to my page..Sara

In Maltese a 'piazza' is a square; I take yours as meaning a veranda...watching the beauty of spring, listening to birds singing; lovely imagery. Spring showers would be most welcome in Malta! ~ regards // paul
