Out On A Limb

Octopus hide in your sea garden Two tentacles bit by a marlin Afraid to reach out though never a doubt New limbs sprout, no better a bargain!

Octopuses can regenerate their arms via epithelial and stem cells. When an octopus loses an arm, everything from nerve bundles to suckers are regenerated in a process called morphallaxis, where existing tissue is rearranged to allow for new tissue to grow. It takes about 130 days for the arm to grow back, and two to three days before the new limb is noticeable. Octopuses can regenerate entire arms, even though each arm has a mini brain and an extensive network of neurons--misfit animals

You delighted, entertained and educated me, I didn't know they regenerate body parts like lizards do. I hope you placed. My mind marinated the prompt, but nothing developed. Sweetie, I don't think anyone HEARS me about Dad's poem, my wish for you wasn't to read the poem so much as it was to read my comments in Paige's box, THEN my comments in Valsa George's box. I've tried so hard to share a miracle, but no one seems to hear what I write & I want you to know for it is incredible.

I had a realization just from the two lines you most poetically wrote, y e s the spirit lingers for a time in depth of the realms, my own partner relies on his own experience (a whisper, his father's) at a time. "My Octopus Teacher" is a lovely documentary (story) award winning, must see, it shows the relationship between the octopus and filmmaker, she is so smart. Have a nice Father's Day Cay Cay~
