A fine take on some good times. Kick the can was the best. We even played flashlight tag after the sun set. Mosquitoes, who cared!

Really... I used to lather up with 6-12 repellant, but still got eaten alive by those mosquitoes.

Of course, back then our teeth weren’t crowned… I’ll leave the rubber bubble gum if that’s okay. Enjoyed your nostalgic lament.

I loved the nostalgia in your words as well as the message...I agree...video games are all the same--mind numbing even propagandizing to some degree. We had it better...used our imaginations...and those TV shows you mentioned were never violent and always had a hidden message. My favorite was Sky King, of course :-)

I have to agree. The olde days were richer in experience.

We had it better. they all take the same skill set, just like the T.V. shows all follow the same topics. Makes it easier on the writers. Thanks for the memories, gw. BB

You're right. We really did have it better. 'Cuz we used our noggins and our imagination. Learned how to think and face new situations without fear. Those were the days... Thanks Bill

I still call them petal pushers lol! And the kids have no idea what I mean. This was a fun read even if it dates me!

Hahahah. I still have some old 'H.I.S.' tight pants that break above the top of white socks. 'Course I can't wear those pants anymore. Honestly, how I got 'em on, I don't now. Some I actually had to cut with a scissors to get off. Those were the days, eh?
