Our true Self

Self is eternal living light,
God’s heartbeat, suffused with delight,
existing beyond time and space,
held there by God in close embrace,
meaning no difference remains,
for in heaven there are no chains.

Self-existent, feeling complete,
delighting in Its own heartbeat,
in the eternal now present,
driven by pure, childlike intent,
Its thoughts instantly manifest,
what heart seeks being by God blessed.

Tempests of desire when we tame,
light of our Self we then reclaim
but first wayward ego must die,
that thus twice born, we wingless fly.
