Third Place

I dream of you at night my love, and we are dancing, all is misty and hazy and we are spinning, you dip me and lift me ~ I have never felt so beautiful and loved. Our love story began with a first look eyes locked and I was swept away, I knew in that moment that I would be yours forever, forevermore and eternally. That even death could not break our bond. We shared such a romantic story perfect in every way, it was a fairytale romance. Oh, we both loved walking in nature, you liked when I read you my poetry. talking and debating the world and often disagreeing candle lit dinners, with kisses and soft music. You were my prince who came with roses and I, your princess. Oh, we had fathomless plans, a home together, a baby on the way, life was a dream upfolding. But then- doom struck like a dagger and you were taken from me in a snow storm ... a winding curve, your car crashing tumbling over and over ~ Do you know I came to you that fateful morn ? As I dreamt and kissed your cold cheek and lips farewell, my hair fanned out in a heavenly wind. I was like a ghost ethereal, but, you where the ghost my love. I was lost in a fathomless pain for days, weeks, months and months it seemed endless. While our baby was growing within me, and I loved him with all my heart. I would have a piece of you but, suddenly I felt a heaviness and at the hospital he breathed but once and was gone from me. The day, I buried him the angel statues wept. I was lost, falling, falling, falling ~ Only memories of our perfect love filled me, overflowing my heart. Perhaps, I muse something so perfect is not meant to last. I know you wait for me beyond the golden gate you will be holding our baby boy Though, I will admit my love I stand at your graves with my fists to heaven screaming inside ... WHY ! Until I hear you whisper be strong find your courage and strength my love, our hearts will go on and on forever for true love never dies ...

I just don't have the words to adequately express how your poem effected me. I felt as if I was there beside you witnessing the magic of love and then the heartache, pain, and grief of tragically losing both a husband and child. I just can't fathom that level of pain and the 'WHY?!' Admire your courage as well as your creativity, Constance. Thanks for sharing something so deep and personal...PS am faving
