OUR PLACE OUR SPACE

Oh awesome, sweet garden, how happy you make me, When I have breakfast on our patio and absorb you with glee, Mid-morning comes in a flash with a fleeting cup of coffee, Then lunch, have a quick sandwich amidst the glory, And aroma of jasmine and basil and lavender galore, Roses of any and every color you could imagine and more, Sunflowers, Geckos and pretty butterflies beckon me, To tea for two and two for tea, my mothers favorite song, Sung by Doris Day, a century ago, But still have a few phone calls to make, the day has been long. Finally, dinner under a full moon, the rosemary smells Divine, our own mint in a jug of water, with lemon Kindly supplied, need they know, by two trees in our estate followed by hubby pouring the wine, As we chill out and dine, On a delicious kleftiko meal. Replete, say goodnight to my garden, small and romantic And so delightfully aromatic, What a breathtaking tranquil sight, our place, our space.

This poem should be read out in every parliament and given to every developer to recite. And just maybe they will make less of a hash of their jobs and finally understand their role in space management here on earth. My new favorite. Thanks some much. Your poet friend in NZ

Good Morning Jennifer. Hi. Where do I begin. Your title is marvelous never did you stray and yes what a great poetic touch to end the entry with the title. I love that poetic element. Your theme is ever poetic as are your chosen words. I read it out loud and turned of any noise and volumes. Read back your entry and you will see the worth including imagery and emotion. Thank you for sharing your skilled talent. Have a wonderful morning and day. Peace Blessings and more always. (smile)

Sounds like the Garden of Eden... and occasionally the 'Garden of Eatin.' Enjoy, Jennifer!

Ooooooo! Sounds like Heaven on Earth. I love my back yard because I have turned it into a garden. Hollyhocks, Roses, Lilacs and many different wildflowers to attract butterflies and bees. It is my happy place. Well done here, God Bless, JB

I can so well relate as I too have a small beautiful garden. Now here, in Kerala, it is the ideal season for plants..... sunny and cool with no blistering heat. This is the time when flowers bloom in plenty. My adeniums and roses are a sight now. As you say, I too enjoy having my morning coffee in my patio looking at my garden. Jenny, as you feel we all need our own space. Thanks for sharing the joy you derive from your garden, dear friend.
