Other Side

Everytime I hear your voice,
On the other side of the phone,
All the sweet words,
I wish it would have been for me,
Instead.
The wishings, the longings, all the love,
I wish I would have been on the other side,
Instead.
Everytime I see your face,
On the screen,
What a gorgeous sight to behold ,
All I can think is would it ever smile for me?
All the things you like about her,
I wish it would have been about me,
Instead.

But you,
You regard me,
As if I'm the sun slipping through your fingers,
Like I'm the chill of snow, fleeting and disdain,
You savor the sight
Yet refuse to claim.

Hi Curie, i lived with a guy 4 seven yrs who liked the sight but refused the claim so i left him. 1 yr later, i met my husband (whike i was living with yet another guy, i left right after meetung my husb), My Jim proposed 6 mos later. Turned out that he’d been out of town for 7 yrs & i’d been “kept busy” by fate til our paths could cross. You see? Hmmm super poem bravo

Ah the sun does not belong through some ones fingers but rather in their heart. Praying one day you will be the major sun in someone's special sky :) kpb

Beautiful! From the heart, brave and relatable -- unfortunately (and fortunately) we cannot control the Mind-heart of others -- and not to take a disappointment as personal failure -- at 76 (ouch!), I have experienced enough to know, that there is always someone else that can help heal such hurt, not in exactly the same tender way, but the heart has infinite ability to expand its loving family of relationships. Great poem, profound and inspiring!
