Open
And I am feeling that I want to feel the pain,
And I am telling you how that with me you don't need to explain,
Still I can see how I might make you think that you are guilty some,
Still don't leave me like we had to leave the place from where we've come,
The road infected me with hunger, want and shame,
These I lay beside your open heart and you somehow seem to tame,
But we can't stay still or we're destroyed -- they'll find us in this hive,
So we have no choice but to keep on moving inward to survive,
So I'm trying hard to memorize you care,
My head pressed to your confessing chest to drum it in my ear,
While the well-defended rites declare it's open warfare,
Soon they'll tear us and our open wounds again out in the open air.
