Listen to poem:

Onyx Clouds and Opal Dreams

Written: January 30, 2025 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Beneath February breath, a fugue of magic hues— embers of crimson, coppered caramel trill as maples sway in Mistral melodic mirth. Amidst the rhapsody, in strokes of whispered shimmer a rainbow flares. In a seamless symphony, a fresco of shades unfurls in the sky. Amid the onyx, woven in clouds gossamer, winter moon glows in a frosty sheen. In luminous rhapsodies, she hums opal notes of wistful longings to the sea’s restless soul. Drenched in ethereal blushes, the sea becomes a shimmering midnight hymn— choristers of spectral silver. O'er the skyline’s silken scarlet, March dusk in tourmaline blush, twilight lyrics of a sundown serenade. Amidst the concerto, swirling crimson, a swoop of swallows in shimmering shadows. They dart off into the tinted eventide, their wing beats, an echo of lingering silence.

Simply gorgeous, Lasaad. Each line, each verse reflects your carefully chosen words and wonderfully crafted images in the jeweled music sung by nature - the master wordsmith at work in shades and tints of February! Such a beautiful overall sense of awe! If this is for a contest, best wishes! Blessings to you. This is a fav for me! I think it is one of your best.

Wow.... what lovely imagination and what a wonderful way of expressing it. Each image and each line conveys the thrill and joy you get on watching 'the fresco of shades that unfurls' in a February evening sky! Expressions like-"coppered caramel trill, frosty sheen, tourmaline blush, choristers of spectral silver" et al etch inerasable impressions in every sensitive and poetic heart. My heart too rises up in elation. This is one of the poems that has delighted me beyond measure in recent days. This is also one of my top FAVEs. Thank you dear Lasaad for allowing this visual treat.

SP, you have created a lot of wonderful images in the latest series of poems. This is magic for sure...the title suggests a great contrast and the text of your poem does not disappoint. You have a great flair for this type of imaginative poetry. Really wonderful!!

I really love the way youv written " Amid the onyx, woven in clouds gossamer, winter moon glows in a frosty sheen. In luminous rhapsodies, she hums opal notes" how lyrical and stunning!
