Only In Dreams
“Heavenly shades of night are falling,”
yet I’m feeling so blue.
for I have found only one way
that I can be with you.
“I’ve just closed my eyes again”
and my mind is taking flight.
It’s willing you to come
“help me make it through the night.”
“Oh, my love, my darling,”
your kisses are sweeter than sweet.
I could stay in this night forever,
for only in dreams do we meet.
How I wish my reality
were, instead, these nights of bliss.
Then it could mean just one thing:
“I was dreaming when I wrote this.”
