One-Time Travelers

My heart beats harder at the thought of farewell We are here just to meet and part in life~ merely sojourners! When I lie dead in my coffin pale and white motionless, you all will send me away with a farewell kiss. All I wish, as you bid adieu is to keep me fondly in your kind thoughts now and then after laid to rest!

Ooh! You've cut to the chase with this one, Valsa. Superb. I sense a bit of the Bard (Shakespeare) in this poem. Bravo, Gershon

Valsa, It's heartbreaking to say goodbye to someone we loved, but as the old adage goes, "it's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all." I loved your poem. Well written. Good luck in the contest. Hugs Debra

Yes, aren’t we all strangers at the beginning…”parting is such sweet sorrow,” and oft we do…so friendship is for such and such a time.
