One Sad Day

.

Fifteen years ago when my father died
To the hospital I carried him that ill fated day
The staff was caring for him so by his side I could not abide
Then very swiftly to surgery he was taken away
As I was eating, God spoke to me in spirit and I felt daddy brush as he went away

Dear Sara, The day before my father died, he kissed my hand - something he had never done before; shortly after his passing - one night while I lie awake in bed in tears, I felt his breath on my hand - the same way it had been the day before he died. God Bless you sweetheart. Many congrats on your BIG WIN, Lainie

Beautiful, Sara. My dad passed on 10 yrs. ago. I was not able to be with him at that moment, but I have experienced many moments, since that night, when I feel his closeness. Funny thing, too...he was always rhyming(usually singing it)! I bet you were such a blessing in your father's life...especially when he needed you most. Congrats on your 10th place win! Ellen

What a remarkable experience, Sara, feeling you father's spirit brush and hearing God speak as he passed away. I'm sure it was hard to write about this event, but your poem is breathtaking! Best wishes in Dr. Ram's contest, dear. Love, Carolyn
