One More Time

To taste your kiss just one more time,
and feel the fire of long ago
that fueled the rhythm and the rhyme 

of poetry in love’s sweet glow
beneath the moon on summer nights,
that only love struck lovers know…
 
And in the shadows, dim of lights,
to once again feel your embrace 
that lifts me up to higher heights 

and takes me to another place
with fantasies becoming real
beneath the veil of midnight’s lace…

These tender thoughts which I reveal 
are showing passion’s paradigm.
Your tenderness I long to feel,

recalling days when in our prime,
and taste your kiss just one more time.

Just thinking about the title of this poem and how these ' three words ' wrap around me. I feel them deeply for so many reasons. In such a beautiful, wonderful and exciting way. :)

A gorgeous, romantic poem John with beautiful sentiments. You have captured longing so well. I love the line, ‘that fuelled the rhythm and the rhyme’.As I was reading it, it struck me as being like a Shakespearean sonnet. Great skill. Impressive! I can so easily relate to this poem and thus- one of my fav’s.Thank you for sharing.
