One Hundred Divided By Two
One Hundred Divided by Two
What do you mean 50 isn’t “middle age”?
I’m in the middle, dammit!
Someone giggles.
I bet she’s 30
Or maybe
23
Listen, you have a hurdle ahead!
I tripped over it a few years back
I wasn’t looking
Too busy
Dancing across the parenting line
With adult children
Weeping through forever goodbyes to Dad
With my mother
Running up the stairs into the classroom
With my students
Now, standing beside our home
With my husband
I stare in disbelief that
I am beyond
One hundred divided by two
