One Against Many

One against many

A peace campaigner,
Anti war protester,
Brian Haw U.K. Cristian
Dedicated to his beliefs,
His rectitude a mirror,
People of opposition
How could ever bear,
The One against many !

Blue plaque erected,
His death marks an end
To a historic enterprise,
As we attend the funeral
Assemble to pay tribute
And celebrate peace,
Fighting till last breath,
The One against many !

Symbol of free speech,
An ancient mariner,
An eccentric dash,
A loner with a
Glittering eye,
Drawling 'B-liar' slogans,
Opposite to gate of
Commons he shouts,
The One against many!

Cigarettes his only vice,
And lung cancer
Never could undo,
His determination,
Could not be suppressed,
Smoking till
his last breath,
The One against many !

This contest is very difficult but you did your entry very well my dear friend Dr. Upma. I wish you good luck though this is already a winner for me. Thank you so much for sharing. May I also have this opportunity to thank you for your precious time to visit and leave a nice comment on my latest poem. Yes, the old recipe I wrote is tasty too. :)) Have a great weekend! love lots and biggest hugs, Leonora
