Once There Was a Love
Once there was a love
filled with such emotion,
Then I wrote this song;
you took the train for Goshen.
You don’t take my calls…
Distraught till I perish,
can I take back that last line?
Tormented each day,
didn’t mean that way.
Please, dear God above!
It was a phrase
a careless little phrase
to make it lyrical and flow.
Honey, I know
it’s just a phase
that you’ll outgrow.
I’m in such distress
that I caused a commotion.
Why can’t I pretend
that your big rear end
fit in that
lovely dress?
