Once He Ran, a Younger Man

Once he ran, a younger man, now he hobbles Once he walked, cheerfully talked, now he wobbles Once he laughed, a breezy updraft, now he cries Once he hoped, with the future eloped, now he sighs Once he looked forward ~ Now he looks toward The day when he can die

Sad but, that is a reality for many, as they age. I had a great aunt, whom aged quite a bit but, she was still playing cards with friends, until 4 or 5am in the mornings at age 85. She had vim, vigor, spunk, fire and spit and I hope to be like her when I'm that old. People don't see through

Sad to deteriorate to the point of looking forward to death for liberation. Well penned, Gershon.

Ah, so true. So very true. That, of course, is why all great readers read between the lines. :) gw
