On Waterfall Haiku
Listen to poem:
water dropping down
free-falls into a plunge pool
headlong elation
mist droplets flung free
from torrential waterfall
defy gravity
cascading water
loses its footing on cliff
falls head over heals
the bridal veil mist
parts to show a waterfall
awesome finery
the falls a shortcut
for water weary of twists
plunges swift straight down
old falls greenery
disorderly in tatters
disheveled lushness
behind the falls shroud
lies a hidden damp cavern
dank and ominous
waterfalls beckon
jumpers to leap off in faith
unfathomable
the resonant roar
of a waterfall drowns out
forlorn calls of frogs
