On the Edge of Memory

For you were love and I was your lover
When life became realms of wonder sustain
Timeless escape that lovers discover
Persuaded passions that pulses contain
Filled wishful eyes of our hungry desire
We welcomed rapture to color the light
That dimmed in our dusk dreams of love prior
When desire denied the dawn of love's night
On the edge of memory, I now pause
To find a kindness in the days we spent
To understand loneliness was our cause
When words spoken or whispered were meant
I've written your name on walls of my mind
Though they have faded, they're there to remind

"We welcomed rapture to color the light"...sometimes your poems leave me floored. Beautiful, the entire poem.
