On Reading About John Duns Scotus

A great philosopher was someone who I read about. He was a Scottish priest. Before today I never even knew a thing about this guy now long deceased. Philosophy is sometimes hard for me to comprehend, and John Duns Scotus taught ideas that I don’t grasp easily. His “univocity of being” thought is too abstract for me, but it seems great. However, “dunce” was used in ridicule of John by those reformers who had hate for his beliefs and saw him as a fool. He argued God’s existence and free will. For those good thoughts, he is remembered still. March 25, 2022 For Joe Maverick's John Duns Scotus Poetry Contest

Andrea great content from you and Constance My heartfelt thanks for your support.. And the Thing is we are learning.' I don't suppose John Duns was right on everything yet he seems a sincere soul and the way his name got maligned With it equalling punishment & stupidity talk About controlling the narrative.'

Congrats on another win my friend! Write On! This helped me to learn something new today. I'd heard the name, but my memory brought to mind nothing. I admire anyone willing to take the criticism and stand for what they believe, whether it turns out to be right or wrong. Thanks for sharing your poetry with us, Andrea. Keep it coming! Bill

Congratulations on your win in the contest. Your poem described this saintly man, that many, as myself, have had no knowledge of, before this contest. Kudos. :)Paulette

Yeah, free will. When u are in a conservertorship it is kind of hard to exercise free will.
