On Ownership

The earth belongs to the One who created it* We are only stewards of the area we possess, Known to the ancients, this fact is no secret No one owns anything forever is my guess, So, enjoy it while you can is as good as it gets. (*Psalm 24:1)

We do not own anything; the sooner we know this, the more inwardly spiritual we can turn.

You've certainly got that right. When we turn from the outwardly materialistic to the inwardly spiritualistic (? - in a good way).

great job with this one, Milt. It looked to me like it worked for one of the contests I was thinking of, but that was the one with four lines. Maybe his is for another contest?

Andrea, this wasn't written for a contest at all. Thank you for the comment.

Many of us have not been very good stewards. Milt, have you had a chance to read the explanation you asked for that I sent you last week?

Yes, Lin. I read the explanation. I had already blocked the individual you are referring to and have blocked those associated with him. They can't comment on my poems or to me, so I'm not allowing myself to get involved with them or bothered by them.

I'm not sure that I have, Lin. I've been prepping for going into the hospital in this whole week. You might want to send it again. I'll check the replies when I get out on Thursday evening...hopefully!

A verse of wisdom Milton, we arrive with nothing and go out the same way. Tom

Thanks, Tom. That's how I see it, too. I like what Robert said below very much.

It's on loan, and I intend to return it undamaged, so I don't have to pay a fee!

Sounds right to me, Robert. By the way, I have really enjoyed your dog limericks. I may not have commented on all of them, but I read them and got some chuckles! Good stuff!
