On My Knees

On My Knees

I've been trying to do right, I've been trying to do right,
Struggling with sin all my life.

I'll get down on my knees,
Dear Lord want you hear my pleas.

Let my promise to atone,
All past mistakes of one's own.

Lord pardon me, or strike me, if you please,
I cannot be much lower than my knees.

Struggling with tears could this sorrow ease,
After words such as these.

A word with God in the early morning breeze,
Asked the Lord above for mercy, Save me if you please.

I surrender my will, I'm on my knees,
Just save me please, please.
