On Memorial Day

My only son once asked me why
A fine mist, today, enveloped my eye
As I began his query to answer
Caught in my throat, a battle cry

Oh, I'm so glad I stopped to read this poem today. Thought I was being too emotional thinking of how our veterans make sacrifices. Your poem assures me that there are others who might still tear up when watching the changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier in Washington. Bravo! Excellent writing and message. Love, Carolyn

Carolyn, I still shed a tear when I hear the National Anthem played, and I yearn for the days when our nation's armed forces had a Commander-In-Chief whom they could respect. Last one I know of was George H.W. Bush, may he rest in peace. Thank you for you kind words. Warmest wishes, Gershon

Thank you, Caren. And if what you've written is true, all of it, 100%, is due to the One Above, from whom everything flows. Warm wishes, gershon
