On Loan

My life, at times, seems not my own
My shoes feel two sizes too small
This body you see I have it on loan
My back is straight I'm standing tall

Till that time when my rental is up
On those days when my skin feels too tight
I'll remember how full is my cup
And my determination to not give up this fight

"when my rental is up" - this made me smile because of the sheer truth in it!
