Laura Leiser Poet Rhyme

On a Prayer

In peaceful stillness my silent prayers fly
upwards toward heaven on whispering wings 
with spirit sounds unheard by mortal ears
and unknown hymns which the angels sing. 

Whispering wings flutter all around unseen 
they surround me as I petition in earnest
wrapping me with blankets of spiritual comfort 
hovering, elevating my soul’s awareness. 

Fly away swiftly, oh whispering wings 
take my humble prayers up to God’s throne 
carry these words that are deep in my heart
words to be heard by the Father alone.

Your faith is so evident in these words of belief that the Holy Spirit and God's ministering angels, though unseen by human eyes are nevertheless real and knowable by the peace they bring in this tumultuous world.
