Old Age

The autumn of life comes upon sinner, saint or sage Holding the soul in withering body’s bondage The birds of beauty, charm and vigor long flown What a profound calamity is man’s old age

At last! Someone who understands the trauma of "old age" Never wanted to go there but here I am. P S In your remarks to me you quoted part of a poem, was it written by you? You have a way with words and bring such sadness into your work. I find it fascinating because I'm sure it comes from life experience as do most of mine. I'm going to be reading more of you wonderful work!
