The Whiskey Taster’s Flavor Guide

Oh Dear - Dad's Beer

Beer dad did pour;
placed on floor but
dad sure full glass

Sis gulped dad’s beer,
Felt so *****… sick
Oh dear, dad’s sad!

Drank dad’s home brew
Age just two, poor
Dad knew - too late!

A true poem about my sister and dad who were visiting his friend Alexis. Dad poured a glass of home brew and put it on the floor - next thing he discovered was my sister had picked it up and drank it all! She was pretty sick and mum was very cross!

Hi Jan, i do like your story in this one. I found it hard on this one, it isn't the most easy form but i guess that is what makes it interesting. I really liked your work. A seven from me. Congratulations on your placement in the contest....MIKE.

I have read a couple of these entries, Jan, but I still have to see how this form works. Apart from that, your entry has got enough serious-humour to give it a high rating. hugs ~ paul

I guess it shows that we do have to be careful what examples we set to our children as they love to copy. I will be honest I really struggled with it Cas as it is such a short form and to get the rhyme and syllable count was tricky to comply with. :-) hugs Jan xx

She drinks soft drinks these days lol:-) I guess kids do copy their parents - when he was quite young I remember asking my son what he would like to drink and he said 'lager' lol - I guess it's proof kids do copy their parents - of course he should have answered tea because that's what I drink lol:-) hugs Jan xx

It is a hard form to write with the restriction on syllables and rhyme scheme but I have given it a go - that is what I love about the contests challenging our creativity:-) hugs Jan xx
