Oh By the Way I Forgot To Say
OH by the way, I FORGOT TO SAY……….
I am without anything when I am without you
And the good Lord knows I miss the taste of your smile
You made colors seem drab next to your eyes of blue
And made a walk up a mountain seem but a mild mile
I remember placing a yellow orchid in your platinum locks
I recall you giggling just like the little girl I believe you are
There was the day by a lake as, upon the water, we laughed and skipped rocks
And stayed mesmerized by our hunger for love until the evening’s first star
I can’t forget all the words I forgot to say that meant so much
I wanted to tell you I finally found that island made just for you and me
And even the most hardened soul would grow tepid from your touch
Oh god, and how timid time doth flee
I had plans of staying on that island with you as my bride
When your flesh felt like silk and your kiss kindled passion unknown
But when posterity and fate foreswore forevermore they lied
And that’s why I sit upon this island sand left all alone
