Of Lasting Value

All I have
of lasting value
is my heart to give

the antiques
in the attic
just gather dust

plastics become brittle
and metal to rust

cloth disintegrates

and if sentiments on cards alone
what true value is a poem?

as museums
need constant
renovation --

an indentured
in and out curator --

while the heart stays with me
everywhere I go --
awake or asleep

unlike tides that ebb and flow

my love for God is constant

enough for me that He eternally
know....

Joe so sorry I missed this one and now I am reading this wonderful truth of what never looses value and that is your love for God. Well said and written my friend. Congratulations my friend on receiving POTD. God bless you for honoring God and the love you have for him...

Your ' love for God is constant. ' He does know that, and He knows your heart is filled with so much gratitude. I know that too, my dear friend. Your thoughts are tender and uplifting. Congratulations Joe, on Poem of the Day. My best to you. :) Hugs, Brandy

What a moving poem! “and if sentiments on cards alone, what true value is a poem?” is such a brilliantly unnerving and also touching verse. Congrats!

Thank you, Daniel; I wonder if unity is as much soaring up to Him as it is, simply letting Him out? Blessings my friend. Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas!

Hi Victor -- God loves us. Merry Christmas my friend! Though we may not always think we see eye-to-eye...we see heart to precious heart. He is with us always. To my mind, anyway. If I am pixilated, there are worst things to be mad about.

Your visits are precious. Thank you, Anne; hope sunshine for today. If I could bottle some of this Arizona bright stuff, I would send it to Norway. Maybe rain change to snow for a delightful 25th. Just a light covering. No ice. Blessings my friend.

Aww, dear Joe, this is such a beautiful write that speaks raw truths and pure emotions! The most precious thing/possessions that we have are our heart and soul... everything else will just turn to dust and ash & will be forgotten by the world. But the flame of our heart's honesty keeps burning forever ~ I was just lost while reading your spiritual words... Thank you for sharing this exquisite piece with us and illuminating our day with your wise words. Pleasure reading this! Sending love & light

Yipes! You must be near the coast. Oh well, maybe will get better. We could use some of that in Phoenix, haven't had measurable rain in months. Sunny though, beautiful 60 degrees Fahrenheit every day. If you are into outdoor sports, this is the place this time of year. Summers are hell. Often kidding with my wife, that if we don't make it to heaven, at least the heat won't be a problem for us.
