Of Free Will
The warm island breeze,
happily dances along.
Lifting sand, rustling leaves,
with it's own cheerful song.
Always present, always found,
through every window and door.
Gaily swirling up and down,
with a soft whisper or loud roar.
A strong gust, a gentle touch.
Always changing it's mind.
Blowing too little, or too much.
Friendly, but at times unkind.
Allows seagrass to gracefully sway,
it carries seagulls in flight.
Has power to leave all in disarray,
creating havoc in the dark of night.
It can not be tamed, it is of free will,
choosing whether to come or go.
Raging on, or peaceful and still.
The island wind, destined to blow.
