Ode To Virginia

...for Virginia Woolf Seashells hiss her mystery, leaves and flowers whisper her humanity; lambent lines of plangent wisdom, stories of charity coated with love and compassion, poetic and rich in description. Shackled in a masculine environment, a room of her own to create her ineffable prose, a well-spring of joys and regrets. A secluded stream disposed of her, weighted and swirled where detachment would no longer vex her, to heaven that welcomed her shimmering soul, unsoured by an unfriendly world.

I'm only just getting into Virginia Woolf. I haven't read much and certainly cannot yet repeat her stanzas fluidly. Though even with my lack of knowledge, this poem broke my heart a little. Stanza three in particular. "Secluded stream disposed of her" roaring to life mixed with everything which makes us love her. An amazing piece. Also thank you for commenting me. It's been so long since we got in contact! Keep on writing, Keith! Nathaniel

Awesome, Keith! Truly poor Virginia was "Shackled in a masculine environment." I did some research on her life last year, and the image you paint is right on target. Very nice! Love, Carolyn
