Abe Lincoln was a poet as well as best speech writer of all the American presidents! He is famous for over 200 very good quotes. Here are some of my favorites:

“Folks are usually about as happy as they make their minds up to be.”

“Whatever you are, be a good one.”

“Do I not destroy my enemies when I make them my friends?”

“America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.”

“My Best Friend is a person who will give me a book I have not read.”

“Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power.”

“When I do good, I feel good. When I do bad, I feel bad. That's my religion.” (that one wows me)

“Those who deny freedom to others, deserve it not for themselves”

“There are no bad pictures; that's just how your face looks sometimes.”

“I can see how it might be possible for a man to look down upon the earth and be an atheist, but I cannot conceive how a man could look up into the heavens and say there is no God.”

“Those who look for the bad in people will surely find it.”

“If I were two-faced, would I be wearing this one?” (a classic!)

“You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.”

“I would rather be a little nobody, then to be a evil somebody.”

“Character is like a tree and reputation its shadow. The shadow is what we think it is and the tree is the real thing.”

“No man is poor who has a Godly mother.”

“Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.”

“We can complain because rose bushes have thorns, or rejoice because thorn bushes have roses.”

“Leave nothing for tomorrow which can be done today.”

“I care not for a man’s religion whose dog and cat are not the better for it.”

“My father taught me to work, but not to love it. I never did like to work, and I don’t deny it. I’d rather read, tell stories, crack jokes, talk, laugh — anything but work.” (priceless

“I laugh because I must not cry, that is all, that is all. ”

(I just did his numerology. OMG, Lincoln was a double FIVE, just like me. No wonder I adore him! Five, by the way, is the number of the person who loves fun over work. This is shown by some of his quotes!)

With Presidents Day coming up this Monday, I submit my tribute to the president born Feb. 12, 1809: Ode to My Hero: Dear Abe At many things, Abe Lincoln was the best. From boyhood to manhood, how he shone. Foreordained to lead, dear Abe was blessed. I picture him a farm lad poorly dressed - kind soul and working so hard all alone. Foreordained to lead, dear Abe was blessed. Entertaining, Lincoln liked to jest. Tall and strong was he when fully grown. Foreordained to lead, dear Abe was blessed. Great intellect and talents he possessed. Many things he learned all on his own! Foreordained to lead, dear Abe was blessed. He led a nation facing great unrest, for slavery dear Abe could not condone. Foreordained to lead, dear Abe was blessed. Lincoln said more in his 2 1/2 minutes with his address at Gettysburg than most men say in a lifetime.

Nicely done, but Trump does not read! Newspaper this morning reported the key to Scandinavia's success is its focus on education; Trump just reduced our 2020 Education budget by 2%. That would certainly get Abe's goat! Aloha! Rico

I was curious about his numbers in numerolgy, so I calculated Lincoln's name number and other important numbers. they are the SAME as MINE. I am so drawn to this man, and now I know why!! Your brother has a fantastic birthdate.
