Notes About The Poem

He looked very much like this one with light green eyes. He loved to play with yarn dangling. He was much thinner than this one and I hoped he would put on some weight but only his stomach would bulge. I just can't handle a cat except for brief contact and I have had an outside cat but I would not get very much exposure to her. This one was still too young to put outside even though I had a safe enclosed place. I hope they find a home for him. They will neuter him and treat him before they give him up for adoption and there is always an adoption fee. 

Ode to CC

The dumped starved kitten meowing at the old barn
His meow loud and clear, but him could not find
Several days later my grandson brought him home
Weak, famished kitten

He took the kitten to his mom, she bathed him then
Pulled off eight ticks from his tiny body so weak
They were going on a trip so my grandson
Brought CC to me

I boiled some chicken and he did eat his fill
Still so weak, he could hardly hold his head up
Gradually gained some strength and played
CC mighty Tom

I kept CC while they were gone, itchy-eyed
Nose dripping then they were home, but didn't want him
I called humane society, but could not reach them
After pain called pound

My available funds are limited now
Food for animals is very expensive 
CC, how I hope they find a home for you
Orange-stripped small wonder

Her name is Stormy. Next moth will ab a year she has been with me. If he were closer to half-grown to grown, I would have tried to keep him because with two outbuildings a barn and a shop I need help with rodent control. Financially speaking though I just can't feed and take care of another animal now since my husband passed. I appreciate your visit. Sara K.
