Bell re-rung
lit bag of dung;
no treat, so
a smelly trick

stomping makes
a foot quite slick

serves him right
the cranky old prick --

Horrid Ghosts
shrieking goblins
bloody sacks
creepy maniacs

it's all sick fun
Halloween on a
bun~ icky worms
and spiders -- backyard
pool with a couple
gators -- replacing
guardian angels with
starkly arousing satyrs -- 

a night of celebration

Dear Joe we live now in a world that doesnt need halloween really, because everything we see in some parts of the world is horrendous, horrifying, and it feels like halloween everyday. But i will not get into details. I do love halloween tho and its one of the most fun festive days i enjoy celebrating. As im usually not a very festive person. I absolutely love how youv written this: and the ending too, is deep, pleasure reading you after a long time, sending you light always.

I have a few spooky relics in my house, mementos of my youth. My wife and I often joke, old as we are now, even scary looking to ourselves in the mirror (who is that creature?), we have no need to spend money on a costumes anymore:) Fright night au naturel:)

Lots of mischief. My sister and her friend soaped a car. She got in a lot of trouble. It was our own father's car. Lol.

Im not a fan to be honest, its not as big here in the UK, as it is in the states.. I dont like commercialised days and have no enthusiasm to want to take part it in.. but if people want to then it is up to them.. I do get sick of the kids knocking on the door though lol..

Hi Si; most kids now days go to malls for trick or treat -- it has become too unsafe in large cities to go door to door. Too many lunatics praying on children.

Hi Joe, you seem to be indisposed to Halloween celebrations. In a way it is a kind of waywardness. Yet it can be seen as part of social festivity when people are freed from the monotony of everyday existence. We may just see it that way. This is a very interesting read giving much food for thought.

I would not outlaw it for sure. Whatever it is, it is very much a part of our culture and the human psyche. I love Poe stories, Sherlock Holmes -- dark-side is very much a part of human nature -- Halloween can be a good teaching tool. I have a big spider on the door:) I'm certain, during the Dark Ages, a few innocent Faith Healers were burned at the stake. Just because they believed and practiced, nature-paths and spiritual-healing. Probably, the wrong politics as well. Democrat Party in the US, has become a coven of ghouls and bad witches. Just my opinion. Taking a live baby from the womb and killing it...is profound evil. Abortion big business in the US.
