Oceanside
Facing life on my own,
at first I was unable to see.
That I was never alone,
I shared my life with the sea.
There to greet me in the morning,
the moment I opened my eyes.
Calling to me with a warning,
of a weather changing surprise.
I listen for it's beautiful song,
a melody so pure and clear.
Inviting me to sing along,
with music, only some can hear.
Waves constantly in motion,
changing, powerful to calm.
Moods and tides of the ocean,
tumultuous or a soothing balm.
The times I cry out in pain,
the waves begin to pound
There is no need to explain,
the action muffles the sound.
The years quickly come and go,
and life is, as we decide.
One thing that I know,
I will stay to share mine, oceanside.
