I haven't seen this contest but I see congratulations are due! I love your haiku, Tom. I've spent much time studying undersea earthquakes and you describe perfectly how they occur and the damage they can do. Awesome writing -- Carolyn

I just hope Earth still exists in a thousand years. We seem hell bent on destroying our planet.

Thank you very much Carolyn, its a facinating subject to study how our earth is constantly changing shape, who knows what it will look like in a thousand years time. Tom.

Nice haiku, Tom: Something we don't think about much, i.e., what's under the waves -- a poet's 'scientific' perspective!...And congrats on your placement in Tania's contest. Competition was stiff, for sure. Welcome back from your travels (?) Best wishes, Gershon

Thank you very much Paul, it must be terryfying to actually see a high wall of water coming towards you, animals can sense them and get very agitated when they approach. Tom.
