Obscultations of Love (For Vandetta G.)

How could a promise so perfect ended so wrong Where did the scream enter our song I looked for love in you and found nothing but scorn Why did my rose bloom changed to a thorn? The door is closed we cannot return to fix it now Life gives but one chance to pay our vow Character is proven when we past the blind test But still my heart finds here no rest I was a fragment of all things I could have been You a pebble worn by life's spin Polished to the eye but worn to centerless core We should have loved long days before. Chilled waters and wind bruised you from center to edge And I, broken, all privileged Denied, had edges too sharp and jarring at trust Had bandage only for my disgust. The pain of lacerated manhood brimmed my care Forgive the cries I did not hear, Forgive the shrapnels of my fear. T'was the blame I did not understand. I was lame And should have known to accept the fault is to right The wrong, halt the sorrow of night And be for you strong, a man to bear the burden Uplift the load from the laden. I bled there bile for each wrath structured sentence spilt Like daggers in me to the hilt O God, forgive me too, this love uprooted when We both brittle wilted as friend.
