O' Yes, Long Ago There Once Were

O' Yes, Long Ago There Once Were O' yes, long ago there once were- calming notes in Spring's first rains Music in raindrops splashing on windowpanes. O' yes, bounty, in youthful days- memories to fill gold cup No time for deepest regrets, drink it all up. O' yes, such can not be again- no repeated notes to hold Youth vigor, future promise was for the bold. O' yes, dare to live long, to dare- eat from that ancient table Dream with hope, dance again, if one is able. O' yes, long ago there once were- calming notes in Spring's first rains Music in raindrops splashing on windowpanes. Robert J. Lindley, 4-06-2017 Note- This new poem start, came to me in a dream last night.. I have been very busy this morn, finally sat down to write. This is it, my muse demanded more, I put her in the basement-- firmly double-bolted the door.. (She being a cruel and most demanding taskmaster!)

Oh yes! I've been thinking a lot about the same thing lately, i.e. the daring and hope of youth...and here it is...already in your poem. And, so perfectly depicted with the birth of Spring and the soft rain. I love rain too and I love this poem. (And, let that Muse out!)

Hi Robert, another excellent piece from your golden pen. The journey through your words is always worth the taking. As we grow older, looking back to our younger days. I read this wonderful piece and then i did a little looking back myself. I kind of decided, for me, that wasn't the best idea. I read your poem again and then looked back, things were different, memories to bring joy came to me. Your muse was singing to you Robert. This is a 7 and a fave. Your friend always....Mike.
