O dear soul
O, dear soul, who besieged your path to undress you?
And bound your hands with threads of sorrow anew.
To shatter your hopes, where sickening darkness blends,
A dreadful cloak that flails the joy your life tends.
Who finds rest when goodness is pushed away,
Replaced by solitude that lands with a heavy sway?
We all are victims, dare to face your shadows trailing,
Before they rend your hopes with spears wailing.
If pain thrust your nerves through the night,
Alone on that bed, sleepless - immersed in plight,
With looming doubts, know - it’s a tide we all feel,
Do not budge in despair, to God appeal.
