Numbers

I've just counted up to ten And missed that number out again It's between three and five And it rhymes with more I need to keep this rhyme short I have not got much to report I know the Chinese lose their breath In their language this number is DEATH This number does not exist In their numerological list It's not for us to reason why I know I do not want to DIE I have not given this much thought before I'll remove this number from MY FRONT DOOR

Congratulations on your placement in my "What's In A Number" contest! Enjoyed your theme of superstition. Before this contest, I didn't realize that four was unlucky and meant "death" to the Chinese. I noticed that your rhyme scheme allowed for the word "four," but was left out, which makes sense because for the contest you can't use it, and superstitiously you shouldn't either. Creative way of captivating that.
