Number of Views

I once posted a poem on poetry soup
I checked for feedback a while later
I smiled to find I had one view
It was enough to be a motivator
Every time I checked my views they increased by one
Then my smile faded when I realized I was my own fan
Celebrating my own views
A lone spoon for my poetry soup

Gregory Richard Barden Date: 2/6/2020 11:20:00 PM I've been here three years, and I still have poems (regularly) with no comments, (and I know it's not their lack of quality) ... it's easy to get discouraged, but the few people who DO take the time to comment, are USUALLY the ones who truly KNOW poetry, and are honestly affected by my work. THAT'S what keeps me coming back - those are the TRUE awards!
