Nowhere Else To Go Welcome to Israel: Land of Hope.1 (The land of Zion and Jerusalem.)2 Where prophets walked and prophesied, For their God, our God: The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.3 And the Lord spoke to Abram, and he obeyed, And sojourned to the land of Canaan.4 Upon Moriah’s altar, the Akeda5 took place Where God bestowed upon Abraham descendancy. (Countless as the grains of sands and, As numerous as the stars in Heaven.) And to his prodigy, God kept the covenant made. Isaac believed, as did his father, and was blessed.6 And Isaac blessed the younger of his sons with inheritance.7 And Jacob wrestled with God and was counted bles'sed.8 Then, famine drove Israel9 and his sons to journey to Egypt10 Where in time, the Hebrew children suffered bondage; And were refused pilgrimage to worship Elohim In the desert, lest they shouldn’t return.11 But the Lord delivered them from Pharaoh.12 Through the wilderness, Moses led the Israelites, And with his last breath climbed Mt. Nebo’s height, To gaze upon the Promised Land and died,13 And Joshua, at the Lord’s invite, crossed the Jordan River Into a land flowing with milk and honey.14 David (the apple of the Lord’s eye)15 Purchased the threshing floor from the Jebusite, Where King Solomon built the Lord’s temple, On Mount Moriah in The City of David,16 A city we shall never abandon. There is no other land for the Israeli: This is our country! Our nation! Our home! Our God’s gift for His chosen people.17 We bless them who bless us.18 Should we relinquish our sovereignty? We have nowhere else to go. *** Notes: Passages from The Tanakh-Hebrew Bible (English translation by Rabbi A.J.
