November Dear

November dear, chart the end of the year
just sixty days to shop before Christmas.
You honor Veterans who volunteer
while we rejoice, they do not enlist us.

Halloween's his ‘try, all but the candy,
enough for you, November, till the end.
Election also done, we wait, AND we
speculate - what will such changes impend?

Tell, what bides in the ides of November?
what unknowns, what secrets will you reveal?
Political passions we remember
likely need at least two more years to heal.

Thanksgiving time, at last comes to this rhyme
gratitude to God, highlight for many.
Dear November, extra days-off are prime
but better blessings God gives a ‘plenty.
