Not Sad

I set aside the book I was reading from my shelf Listening to the chorus of the night by myself The chirping of the crickets and cars whizzing by And I gaze at the one, lonely star I see in the sky No say I, I am not sad Yes I am alone, but I am comfortable with the world and am glad I listen to my heart beating out its tone And I do not reach for the company on the other end of the phone I look inside myself and search into my mind And much to my surprise I think that’s peace I find No say I, I am not sad Yes I am alone, but I am comfortable with myself and glad
