Not Like Our Days
Rushing wheels now veer the streets
Racing in maddening motions
We stand submerged in several screeching sounds
Inundated by the indulgence of mechanical slaves
And the wails of a whirling world
Invisible wires stretched from north to south
Makes now the world a narrow path
We talk far off across the seas
And scale the mountains in seconds
Scheming to see new-fangled sites
And tame the world to our taste
Insatiable man yet roams and rushes all over
Far beyond his eyes and senses
To where others gently take their lodge
Down the sea he dares to dive and delve
He takes the wings of birds to the plumes
And squints to see what lurks down the nooks
Countless charms lure the mind
And nosh the senses every day
Fashions and fascinations budge back and forth
So much prickle and plunge the mind
And leaves us in watch for what next to await
