Not Impressed

it's almost october misty mornings foggy nights crazy hair i don't care time of year i yearn for the echo of drums as they whisper in summer rains through mountain's tops more so than sunset hues in trees peering in and out of the thickness of smoky air rising from the valley there is no music in autumn's air just a moan of cold breath lingering beauty befalling to death

Through your eyes the visions of fall change with the seasons. Though fall is a beautiful time of year, it does signal the beginning of winter and the chilled months. Beautifully done my friend.

I was in the mountains this weekend...trees are changing somewhat...lots of fog at night, some mist...i know the cold is coming around the bend and i can't apply its brakes and make it linger in limbo... Thank you my friend, i always enjoy reading your comments :) hugs

- A poem like this "could be my words", Sandra - I'm not impressed either - brown, wet, sticky and dead - hugs // Anne-Lise :)

Exactly Anne-Lise. It’s beauty only lasts a short time but much fog, cold, frost and death of beauty .. everything is brown, white, dead. Hugs :)

I love this. It's a beautiful poem and I dread winter so... it's my least favorite season. Fall is first, then Spring, then summer, then dreaded winter (even though I can still find inspirations in this one) God has created a wonderous world. God bless you and again, love the poem.

Thanks John. Was just in the mountains for a concert and the trees are starting to turn on the way home it was eerie with all the fog. Some mornings are already dipping into the 40’s .., hugs

It is muggy in Kansas today. Feels like a sauna. I am so ready for this. Your imagery is marvelous my friend!

Sandra, Autumn's way of making merry days melancholy. Time to find that old comfy sweatshirt. -Richard

Lol I don’t mind the hoodie weather it’s the multi layer marshmallow look I dislike where no matter how many layers you have you can’t stay warm. Hugs :)

You found those unimpressive moments at the edge of October..So well expressed, Sandy: just a moan in cold breath..I don't care time of year.

So vivid! Still so hot in the southern states that fall seems to have lost its voice to sing. Perhaps it has a cold lol Enjoyed the reading and visuals of your poem. Hugs, Debra

A great summation of October (and November) -- no music in Autumn's air. Couldn't agree more. Brrrrrrrr. Cheers anyway, Gershon

lol thanks...went to the mountains to see a concert last night, trees are starting to change...although it was rather warm, the ride home was very eerie with thick fog, as it has been lately...i am sure you can relate...i know this beauty will fade quickly to colder air soon... hugs :)
